We have been coming to lake Cumberland for 50 years. It is still one of the most beautiful lakes in the US. Water is clean and clear with nothing but shoreline and forest for as far as you can see. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. A great vacation place.
We had a great time. The houseboat was in great condition. Even better than last year. Upgrades were very noticeable. Beds were made. It was very clean. Well stocked with nice dishes, pots, pans, towels, a black stone grill. The boat helpers were very informative. Thank you for a great vacation. Our group was very pleased . Hopefully we will all be able to return next year.
State dock is always the best poker run! Amazing location and great staff around the docks.
We have come here every summer for the last 3 years now! We just wrapped up our third trip! Let me tell you, this is an incredible place to take a vacation! The house boats are wonderful! Spacious, with lots of amenities, and very clean! There are hot tubs on board, flat screen TVs, full kitchen, and even washers and dryers! You get to man the boat yourself too, which is a fun part of the adventure! Then you can go any and everywhere over lake Cumberland! The views are amazing and the water seems so clean! Days are spent swimming, taking in the views, fishing, cooking, and spending time together! Crew are on standby to call if you have any questions or need anything too! If you need to dock any time to restock, there is a store with many of the basic needs and the staff there is so friendly! Make sure to bring goggles and water shoes! Those are essential for the trip! Also, make sure to pack your food for your stay in coolers and whatnot to bring on board! Altogether, this is an incredible vacation to take! It’s so different, so fun, and State Dock is the perfect place to offer it!
This is a beautiful and peaceful place, all the regulars are super nice. Great place to get away and relax. Cannot wait to go back again!
The houseboat was great the business practices not so much. I was told we had to put $300 down to cover our first tank of fuel. I asked several times if we dont use a full tank do you credit back the money and was told yes by several different people including check in. We were driven out of the marina and the employee disembarked and went on his way. We noticed the fuel guage didn't work notified State Dock they said we would be fine. We went to 76 falls stayed 2 days headed back and found a cove near State dock marina on our last 3rd day. We did not cruise the entire lake we went less then 30 miles. When we got back I was told we had to wait for them to fill the tanks diesel and regular unknown to me prior to the trip. When they were done filling we had a 682.12 bill for fuel. The first $300 is just a deposit we had to pay another 382.12 for fuel. Not to mention we had no way of seeing how much fuel was actually in the boat when we started or how much we used. We were completely mislead by this company we will not go back there. I don't usually give reviews but thought people should be warned about the deliberate misrepresentation of this company.
Amazing experience for me! Feeling the breeze, hearing the water as it pushes upon the boat and rocks. Learned how to drive a boat and spent quality time with family. This might be a yearly trip for me
Full service and efficiently ran operation. The houseboat we rented (Voyager 450) was clean and well maintained. The only criticism(s) is that houseboat is dated. (1)The built-in entertainment center might have been good thirty years ago but not with a obsolete tube style TV, no HDMI input connection, and no Bluetooth connection. (2) Missing curtains in the front salon but are pictured on the website and PDF brochure. (3)Safety rails on front and rear are miss-aligned and some have broken welds. Making it difficult to open/close gates door while ingress and egress. (4) Switches on both helms should be replaced and re-marked and horn fixed on bottom helm. (5) Update the GPS with a good on-board map of Lake Cumberland. Technology is more capable and cheaper for GPS, just my 2 cents. (6) Just a thought, how about daily weather broadcast. It might come in handy for future guests. Little nit picking things, but all in all I had a great time.
